Detroit Loan Program

The Detroit Loan Program has provided $1.3 Million in loans to 48 existing businesses and 27 start-ups – creating 71 jobs and retaining 105 more.

To support small businesses and encourage small business development, the City of Detroit wanted to offer a lending program for Detroit-based businesses, We were the first microloan program in Detroit, selected by the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood and Commercial Revitalization as the official City of Detroit microloan program in 2006.

New Programs and Announcements

Drive Thru Testing- On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Community Care Network will launch its first drive-thru testing site at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse on the corner of Woodward Avenue and E. State Fair Avenue in the City of DetroitLearn more here.

Who can go to the CCCN drive thru testing site?

  • Individuals who have received a testing order from their doctor and have a scheduled appointment with the CCCN Call Center can get tested.
  • COVID-19 testing will be available to any resident of the tri-county region (Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County)

How to make an appointment

  • Call the CCCN at 313-230-0505, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Sunday
  • Bring with you a valid ID and any written testing order or prescription from your doctor

Business Resource Zoom Conference Recording- If you missed the conference, you may watch the recording as the DEGC, City of Detroit, and SBA presented information for business owners.

Wayne County and TCF commit to $6 Million in low interest loan fund. These small business loans are for businesses with less than 100 employees that are able to demonstrate over 25% loss of revenue due to COVID-19. To apply, collect required documents and apply here. Restaurant Carryout Zone Program-Mayor Mike Duggan announced the Restaurant Carryout Zone program, which allows any restaurant that has parking meters in front of their establishment to petition to have paid street parking areas converted to free 15 minute pickup zones. Signage will be installed within 48-72 hours after the request is made. The request form can be found at

TechTown Small Business Stabilization Fund APPLICATIONS CLOSE TODAY 3/27- Techtown, in collaboration with the City of Detroit and DEGC has developed the Detroit Small Business Stabilization Fund to provide working capital grants up to $5,000 to small neighborhood businesses whose income is at or below 80% of area median income and has ten or few employees. This particular outreach targets small businesses with low-income owners located in neighborhoods at high risk for displacement. The goal of the fund is to help small businesses bridge the gap until additional funding resources are announced. Application instructions will be make available later this week at

Food Rescue Program- The City of Detroit is partnering with Forgotten Harvest and Detroit restaurants to “rescue” surplus food that otherwise might go to waste during the COVID-19 outbreak and provide to local area agencies for residents in need. Not only will the donations help families in need, they also will support participating businesses financially by unlocking tax deductions.

The Food Rescue program is being offered to interested restaurants with surplus food waste & ability to transport to nearby agencies. Organizers are looking for surplus food that will perish due to closure of restaurants in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Businesses interested in participating can find more information and fill out a signup form at detroitfoodrescue. After filling out the form, businesses will receive email instructions directing them to a nearby receiving agency and details on how to track their donation.
