Kent provides leadership in the development and implementation of definitive, focused, and long-term strategies that provide Herman Miller, Inc. with the best possible global value stream to meet our customers’ needs. It is his mission to have Supply Management be the leading provider for proactive, innovative solutions. Under his leadership, Herman Miller Supply Management builds fair, honest relationships, emphasizing the importance of mutual accountability. We will maximize our learning and employ the principles of relentless improvement to increase reliability, quality, and total value. Kent’s team drives the corporate 2020 environmental initiatives of zero landfill, zero hazardous waste generation, zero air emissions (VOC) and 100 percent green electrical energy use throughout the supply base. Kent is currently implementing a long-term strategy to integrate key suppliers and eliminate waste in the value stream through the use of continuous improvement principles based on the Toyota Production System.
Previously, Kent worked in the field of aerospace with Howmet Corporation and in the contract furniture arena with Nucraft Furniture. His roles included product engineering, engineering management and materials management.Education:

Kent is a former board member of a community agency responsible for business development. He is an active in his community through volunteer activities with various groups focused on improving the life of social and economically disadvantaged individuals.
