Thomasina “Tammy” Tedesco is the President and CEO of Edibles Rex, a catering business that provides fresh, creative food for corporate and social events. Since starting her business in 1992, Tammy has built a reputation for superior customer service, presentation, nutrition and education for her customers. She has catered to significant individuals and events including former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and Super Bowl XL in Detroit.

Tammy has a social mission within the community to incorporate healthier food selections in school meal programs. Thirteen years ago, she launched Edibles Rex Management Services and began serving nutritious meals to local schools. Today they serve over 10,000 meals daily. Tammy donates her services and meals to several community organizations including Goodwill Industries, Cass Community Social Services, Play Works Detroit, Detroit Public Schools, Gleaner’s Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest, and the University of Michigan’s Project Healthy Schools. As a certified woman-owned business, Tammy is dedicated to mentoring and training women to be successful in the food service industry by employing a staff of eighty percent women and providing mothers with flexible employment opportunities.

Through the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, Tammy was introduced to the nationwide Ernst & Young Winning Women’s Program and became the first Michigan winner in 2012.
