Michelle Cloutier found herself in the office waiting for the phone to ring. She knew she had a great business, but figuring out how to find more customers was challenging. Her business, Premier Plastic Resins, Inc., supplies virgin, prime and recycled thermoplastic pellets for injection molding and extrusion processes. Michelle sells these raw materials primarily to the automotive industry, and the rest to agricultural, medical and plumbing industries. She also exports 10% of her products to Canada and Mexico.

Through her certification as a women business enterprise, Michelle met Deb Loeser, Women’s Business Center manager. Loeser took Cloutier under her wing and counseled her on how to get the most out of attending the Great Lakes Women’s Business Conference, especially with the goal in mind to generate new business. At that conference, she met another woman business owner that needed plastic resins for their injection mold company. The conference was a huge success and the beginning of Michelle’s confidence in generating new accounts soared.

Loeser keeps Cloutier up-to-date on special events, webinars and future opportunities for professional development and growth opportunities. Michelle is grateful for learning the importance of putting together the right staff that can run the day to day operations, while she focuses on developing new accounts. “I really appreciate Deb Loeser’s encouragement, as it has helped me to get out of the office and start talking with other business owners and get more involved in match maker meetings.
